Restore Balance. Rebuild Trust. Renew Your Life.
Welcome
Life can be difficult, especially when trauma, depression, anxiety, or relationship struggles leave us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or alone. As a psychotherapist in Waterford, I offer a calm, compassionate space where you can explore what’s going on beneath the surface, and begin to make sense of it. Therapy helps you understand and regulate your emotions, process painful experiences, and develop healthier ways to cope and connect. Whether you're grieving, carrying trauma, or trying to rebuild trust and intimacy, healing is possible. Through empathy, integrity and a deep belief in the power of therapy, I aim to help you move toward a life of greater peace, freedom, and self-understanding.

Testimonials
My name is Brendan and I have attended counselling with Philip for 18 months. My issues were connected to an unstable home life as a child, having witnessed abuse, alcoholism and neglect. As I grew my self esteem was very low and I felt I wasn't as good as others and tended to shy away from company and isolate myself. By taking that first step and contacting Philip my life slowly and gradually began to change. Through person-centered therapy I discovered that I wasn't to blame for my childhood trauma and that I could be set free from the negativities that held me. Life is so much better now."
My name is Aoibhinn and while in a relationship I experienced negative behaviour, control and abuse from my partner. I found I could not get away as my partner was very manipulative and I also did not want to admit to the seriousness of the problem. Having reached out and experienced EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) I found my fears were alleviated (quite quickly) and I found the courage to move on in my life. I am now a much happier person and have set new goals for my future."
My name is Abbey and I am a student in a third level college. Through stress from both home and college I found I lost my appetite for food and began to lose weight very rapidly. At first being thinner suited me but over time as my health deteriorated and my parents and friends began commenting I realised I had developed an eating problem. Therapy helped me enormously by showing me that my issues were more deeply related and how I hid behind weight to avoid facing deeper issues in my life. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy helped me to change my actions and develop a better relationship with food. I am in a much better place now and making progress everyday."
